If a Teacher is having trouble syncing data between devices, ask them to use Quick Check first to identify any issues with your network or our servers. If problems are detected, you can then run a deeper diagnostic test to get a detailed breakdown of all our servers and your internet connection to troubleshoot the issue.
What is Network Check?
Network Check is a troubleshooting tool built into your Goodnotes Classroom app for quick and efficient network checks. It is available for all Teachers and should be run in the event of a device not syncing properly. For example:
- When students can't see Teachers' annotations
- When Teachers can't see Student changes
- When Workbooks aren't loading in the Library
Network Check only checks connections so it shouldn't be used for other issues such as features not working or the app crashing.
How to run Network Check?
There are 2 ways to run a Network Check:
- Upon launching the app, a Network Check will be run in the background and the Teacher will be notified if any issues are found. Relaunching the app is one method of running a Network Check
- If you are already using the app, you can run a Network Check from the Document View
Manually run a Network Check
- Tap on the ⌄ button next to the name of your Lesson in the Tab in the Nav Bar
- Tap the Check Now button and wait for Network Check to complete. This may take a few minutes!
Results
The results will indicate if everything is running smoothly or if there are issues. If the teacher encounters problems, they will be prompted to contact you, the Admin. You can then run a deeper Connection Check to pinpoint exactly what is failing and contact Support if you need.
