Classroom supports exporting Lessons in the following file types:
- Goodnotes Format - can only be opened in Classroom and Goodnotes 6 (opening in Goodnotes 6 will remove Classroom Teacher features.
- PDF (editable/flattened)
- Image
There may be a one off bug causing the export to fail, attempt these quick fixes to resolve this:
- Force Quit Classroom/Goodnotes 6 (Teacher and Student scenarios) and reopen.
- Force restart the iPad.
- Log out of Classroom/Goodnotes 6 and log back in again.
- Update your Goodnotes version, as the App Store can be slow to do this for you automatically. Simply open Goodnotes App Store link and choose Update, if available.
- Update your iOS/iPadOS version.
- Delete and reinstall the app. This will reset any cache and also make sure that all apps are on the latest version and so running on the same schema.
If you are exporting a Workbook as one of these file types and still having issues, check if you are able to export any other Workbooks from the device.

The export fails when opening / exporting a specific document
This is most likely due to memory issues while the app's exporting that document, which is a CPU-intensive process.
Please try and export groups of pages and use an online tool to merge them back together.
If it's an imported PDF document, the export failure is likely due to how the original PDF was encoded. In that case, it's advisable to compress the original PDF and import the compressed PDF going forward.
