Why are my exports failing?

If you are receiving an error when attempting to export a Lesson, there may be an issue with the Lesson you are exporting. Classroom supports exporting documents in the following file formats:

  • GoodNotes document (.goodnotes) - for sharing with other GoodNotes users or for your own backup
  • PDF - for viewing in any PDF viewer on any platform
  • Image - for viewing in an image viewer on any platform

Classroom does not support exporting entire Class Folders. If you are unable to export a Lesson as any of those file formats, try the following quick fixes:

  • Force Quit and restart the app
  • Log out and log back in again
  • Duplicating the Lesson and exporting the copy
  • Change the export file format

If the issue is still persisting, there may be an issue with the size or contents of the Lesson. Attempt the following solutions in the Options section of the Export menu.

  • If you are exporting as a PDF, change the PDF Data Format to Flattened
  • Toggle off Include Annotation, Include Sticky Notes, Include Page Background
  • Toggle on Export Images as Zip File (If optional)
