Use Classroom's Prep Mode to create worksheets, lesson materials, or other class resources. Teachers can create a single document with all the exercises and materials needed for a class, then share it with students to work on through Class Folders.
How to use Prep Mode
You can toggle Prep Mode by selecting it in the Nav Bar.
Once you have setup your Classroom Lesson, use Prep Mode to write, move or delete content, define Answer Zones and make final annotations. To learn more about all the Tools to create a beautiful looking and useful Lesson in Prep Mode, please see: Handwriting, Annotating and Typing with Classroom
Sharing the document
Prep Mode is for creating the 'base layer' of Lesson, where Teachers can create the foundation material for a class, then share it for Students to work and learn from. Lesson preparation such as annotations and answer zone placements can be completed before or during class - all depending on your own teaching style. Documents will be automatically shared with students when they are added to the Class Folder, simplifying your workflow.
Answer Zone Tool
In Prep Mode, you will have access to the Answer Zone Tool. The Answer Zone is an area on the page where you expect a student to write their answer. It determines how our Smart Grading AI model will sort Students answers into Smart Clusters for every question and which questions will show up in "View by Question".
You can define Answer Zones in a document by manually "drawing" them.
1. Press the Answer Zone icon in the toolbar to select it
2. Place and size the Answer Zone around the desired answer area by tapping on the page once or by drawing the zone with your stylus
3. Move the answer zone around the page by dragging it with your finger or stylus or adjust the size by dragging on the handles on either side
4. To deselect the Answer Zone tool, tap on it again or select any other tool
5. To edit existing Answer Zones, make sure to first select the Answer Zone tool again and then tap on the zone you would like to edit
Other edits
All other edits such as handwriting, text and elements can be created and placed in the Lesson to then be visible on the Student's devices.
