Join your Institution and set up your first Class

You may have made your first Lesson and now need to share it with your Class, or you may be getting the app ready to start the new school year and want to set up all your Classes. In this brief guide, we'll show you how to join your institution and set up a Class folder. 

Joining your Institution

  • First things first, you need to make sure you have set up your Goodnotes Account as a Teacher and been added to your school by your Admin. See this guide if you haven't already done this. 
  • You should see the School's name in your Sidebar, tapping on this will take you to your School's page. Here you will find all the Class folders you have associated with your School.

Create your first Class

On your School Page, you will either see Class Folders if you have some already, or a blank library.

  1. To create a Class, select the + icon.
  2. You will then be able to give your Class a title, choose its color, and add Students to the Class. 
  3. Tap Create Class Folder when you are done and voila, you have created your Class!

Any Lesson you now add to this Class will be shared with all enrolled Students automatically, so you can easily curate the content they can see. 

Please note: If you don't want to add Students to the Class now, you don't have to! You can add or Remove Students later on. See this guide for more information.
